shortpackedblowschunks.com

Hello to anyone who arrived here by typing shortpackedblowschunks.com. Apparently, when David Willis posted today’s comic containing a fictitious domain name, he did not register that name at some $9 registrar (the one I use is NameCheap) and have it mirror his regular site. And I was fortunate enough to be the first evildoer to discover that and register the domain myself. Bwahahahahaha… So I am NOT the “blogmaster” depicted in that comic (although it does somewhat resemble a younger me, which I find a little bit eerie). This is a blog about all kinds of comics, paper and web, which tries to be positive, usually not even mentioning the ones that I feel “blow chunks”, but occasionally pointing out when a good comic does something bad AND when a bad comic does something good. But if enough people want me to ridicule Shortpacked daily, it’s not on my list of Favorites, so I could probably come up with something.

And would somebody PLEASE tell Ethan he’s not old. I’m 20 YEARS older than he is and still loving comic strips. Toys, not so much. I have bought a few action figures but only ironically, like when the Star Trek TNG series came out with the characters played by Whoopie Goldberg and Dwight Schultz. Who could resist THAT?

    Sweet, I love evildoers!

  4. zazzo

Well played, good sir …. well played indeed.

    Ahaha, you got me!

I’m kinda surprised Willis didn’t snatch up the domain, myself. He’s usually pretty good at covering his bases like that.

  8. Max

It’s sad that you have to do stuff like this to get traffic on your comic blog.

  9. Devin

Agreed, Thores, especially since the SP URL is currently http://www.sarahpalinistheantichrist.com/

Ethan IS old, and you are ancient. Me? I’m practically a mummy, and they will have to bury me with my game dice still gripped in one withered hand, and my fanzines clutched in the other.

Not so sad, since I did it on a spur-of-the-moment impulse and this blog had enjoyed some traffic and other success before I semi-abandoned it, only resuming posting to it a few days before this opportunity for cheap ($9.29 domain registration) publicity stunt. I was hoping it’d be kinda funny. Not as funny as a Batman gag on “Shortpacked”, but funnier than Mike’s bizarre bed-hopping.

That’s really funny. So sad that shortpackedblowschunks.com doesn’t exist. It may be a hilarious website (in the main idea, only… because I think, anyway, that Shortpacked is a very cool webcomics).

  13. Fathom

Hey, Mike’s bizarre bed-hopping is hilarious.

Not to say this trick wasn’t a good one, but still.

  14. Eugene

    Well played.

Heh. If Ctrl-Alt-Del can make a church, David Willis could have had at least made a self-parody parody.

  16. Scoob

Wouldn’t a self parody parody just be a story about Dave going about his everyday, mundane life?

    (no offense Dave)

    :o
